Steps to simple claims
Your claims representative will help you every step of the way, but knowing the six simple steps we follow always helps.
STEP 1 – Report your claim

STEP 2 – Provide details
Provide this information for an auto or home claim.
You may also need to complete some forms. Your claims representative will let you know which ones and answer any questions about them. Please complete and return them as soon as possible, to keep your claim moving quickly
STEP 3 – Help getting back to normal
If you’re injured, we’ll assign you a specially trained claims representative. You, your health care provider and your employer may need to complete some forms, which your representative will send you. These forms will need to be returned quickly so we can process your claim promptly. We’ll work with you, your health care provider and your employer to help you recover and return to your normal daily life.
STEP 4 – Reimbursement
After we’ve assessed your claim, we’ll issue a cheque. It may be issued to you or directly to the vendor. You may need to endorse a cheque at this stage.
STEP 5 – Completing your Claim
Upon your request, we can notify you when we’re about to close your file. We’ll also notify your broker.
